Decided to go out Monday evening even with the blowing gale. My son was insistent on coming on his scooter also so we set off intending to do the normal Prom route.
Had the wind behind me all the way down the prom towards Hoylake and I felt like I was flying. We then turned to come back and the wind hit us big time.
It was a struggle until about Firshaw road when my son complained about earache and being too tired to continue. We walked from then on with little bits of jogging for me now and again. We made the diversion down Dovepoint road to avoid the wind hence the slight change in route.
Considering I walked a fair bit on the way back I was quite pleased with the time. That wind sure did blow me along!!

Good luck with your fitness journey! I have been on the same journey for almost 10 months, and have made a ton of progress.
The distance of 4.44km is spookly almost the same distance as 'our' Park Loop of 4.45km.
Suggestion using Google Map Pedometer: If you click on "Satellite" you are able to Zoom in another two levels and can see houses, streets, street markings, footpaths, cars, people, etc.
This will allow you to mark-up your running routes with that little bit more accuracy.
If trees or other objects get in the way or you simply lose a sense of where you are, then you can click on "Map" again and continue mapping your route until you have passed by these objects or found your way once again. Then click back to "Satellite" and zoom in those two levels again.
The advantage of using Satellite (which I have found), is that if you run along off-road paths, then these are not always shown in "Map" mode. They will however be shown in "Satellite" mode. Any route that includes 'our' Park Loop is an example of our road path running.
Thanks again Mike. I have started switching to satellite view now. This is much better. Please check my pedometer for the Prom route as in my later post to make sure I have it right if you have time.
Thanks
