steady on old chap - you'll be showing me up with maps and stuff!

Actually I've been meaning to take a look at this: http://www.google.com/apis/maps/documentation/mapplets/

not sure what it does and might be a bit too techie - looks good though!

just noticed... adsense and a link to your web too, thats the idea!

Made £0.00 from adsense on my running blog though

I'm trying but very new at this web lark.

I couldnt get the full URL of that Google API thing as when i copied and pasted it was not recognised as a valid URL.

Yep Got the adsens idea from your site and the link to my money-savings.

I will let you know if i ever get anything from mine. Can you have a counter on these blogs?

Have you thought about using Google Gmaps Pedometre (http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/) which is something John informed me about?

It allows you to physically mark your route on a map and accurately (at high resolution) calculates the route's distance.

It will initially show you the USA. Simply click on the "more options" hyper-link and select "United Kingdom" and "Hoylake" in the 'Jump To'.

Go to the resolution of your choice (the higher the more accurate). Click the "Start Recording" button. Then double-click at the start location of your run. Double-click the next point on the map... and so on until the whole route has been completed.

It's really good. Must be - John recommended it to me and he's pretty good with these types of things.

I have now added you under "Blogger Friends" against my blog.

Thank you for adding me as a link on your blog.

no need for a web counter, just use google analytics.

Copy n paste the javascript they provide, modify your template and simply paste that javascript in the right place (just before /body) and you'll get all the stats that you could ever imagine
