I went for a later start today as it was just as hot as yesterday in the afternoon. I was impressed with myself for actually wanting to go for a run (I reckon its the thought of having to run with John in a couple of weeks ;->)).
OK so i took the same course except my eldest son tagged along on his bike. Set off down Park Road then Bennett's Lane again onto the prom heading towards Hoylake.
I felt much better at this early stage as it was nowhere near as hot as yesterday. My son was going on ahead egging me on but I stayed at a slow but steady pace (Plus i couldn't hope to keep up).
I dunno about anyone else but I find it difficult to talk, or even look or nod at anyone while running because its such a struggle anyway. So my son was nattering away and all i could do was grunt back at him!!!
Carried on along the prom and didn't really find it that hard until i hit the tennis courts where I was feeling it and persevered nevertheless as I wanted to manage the run without stopping or walking.
Went round the loop and back away from Hoylake now and still feeling it. Felt hot but nowhere near as bad as yesterday.
The rest was a slow struggle all the way back along the prom up Bennett's lane and along Park road to home where I was beaten by my son on his bike.
Details:
Start Time: 19:02
Time Taken: 26:36
Distance: 4.84 km
Avg Speed: 10.92 kph
Its better than last time but i stopped to chat on that one. The main thing was that I managed the whole run without stopping. My legs are stiff as I write this so I will give it a miss tomorrow to recover.

Well done Son! I think you're doing great! Keep on running. Luv Dad....xx
The thing about running is trying to always improve. That is something that you did today.
Yeah, the caveman grunt happens to us all when running at our upper levels.
Kid's on bikes, they think they know it all! ;-)
4.49km (2.79m) in 26:36 is in fact:
10.128kmh (6.293mph)
05:55 per km (09:32 per mile)
Mike it looks like i am not working it out properly.
Whats the calculation?
The speed calculation is as follows:
Speed = Distance / (Minutes + (Seconds / 60 ) ) * 60
i.e.
Speed = 4.49km / ( 26 minutes + (36 seconds / 60 ) ) * 60
Speed = 4.49 / ( 26 + ( 0.6)) * 60
Speed = 4.49 / 26.6 * 60
Speed = 10.1278195488...
